Gertrude's Baby Cap Description:
This infant cap is appropriate for boy or girl babies. The front of the cap can be plain or embellished with a variety of decorative treatments such as lace trim, embroidery, or hemstitching. Several time-saving features reduce construction time:
- Front of cap is folded back, creating a self-band or flap.
- The crown is faced, eliminating the challenge of rolling and whipping a fabric circle.
- Lower edge of cap is finished with a bias facing.
- Ribbon rosette and tie (streamer) are made from one length of ribbon instead of rosette and streamer being made separately, then tacked together.
